Colour and function

Carotenoids fall into two classes: xanthophylls such as lutein, zeaxanthin and astaxanthin (which contain oxygen), and carotenes such as beta-carotene and lycopene (pure hydrocarbons). Silvaco supplies xanthophylls and carotenes in various forms and concentrations.
