Used in joint health, skin and beauty, heart health, sleep and sports nutrition formulations. Glucosamine and chondroitin are dosed in hundreds of milligrams, so they are tabletted or filled in sizes 00 and 0; caffeine and melatonin are dosed in milligrams or less and usually diluted on a carrier before capsule filling.
Some actives belong to no vitamin, mineral or botanical family — they are single substances with their own specification and regulatory status. Where the origin matters, we name it: marine or bovine chondroitin, crustacean-derived glucosamine and chitosan, royal jelly from the hive.
